The girls’ varsity tennis team dropped to 1-1 on the season after losing 5-2 to Cumberland in an away match on Tuesday. Freshman Kylie Eaton stepped up to #1 singles and was again dominant, defeating Cumberland’s top player Amiah Sommer 6-0, 6-0. At #2, co-captain Natalie Sepe lost a tough three setter to Salma Taghzout. 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. At #3, co-captain Liz Murray improved her record to 2-0 with a straight set win over Kiley O’Brien, 6-1, 6-0. And at #4 singles, Vibha Kamath, playing the first singles match of her career, lost to Kelsey Lindsay, 6-4, 6-2. In doubles, MB’s #1 pairing of Maddy Gerrish and Frances Aebker fell to Trista Rock and Abby LaRose 6-2, 6-3. Emelie Lum and Celia Yang, playing #2 doubles, lost to Taylor Lindsay and Lauren Gervais, 6-2, 6-2. And #3 doubles, Faith Siwicki and Grigsby Young, were defeated by Briana Nuay and Lia Rajabium 6-2, 6-4.
