The girls’ varsity tennis team raised its record to 2-1 for the season by defeating Cranston West 6-1 at a home match on Friday, September 13th.
Candice Ballarin, playing #1 singles, improved her record for the year to 2-0 by defeating Isabella Corso 6-0, 6-0. Playing at #2 singles, freshman Kylie Eaton also remained undefeated (3-0), beating Marissa Such 6-0, 6-1. Co-captain Natalie Sepe prevailed in a tough three-setter, edging Olivia Martin 6-1, 1-6, 6-2. And co-captain Liv Murray scored a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Racheal Perrotta to improve her record to 3-0.
In doubles, the #1 team of Vibha Kamath and Maddy Gerrish won their second match of the year, beating Ava Caliri and Isabella Conti 6-3, 6-0. Courtney Yang and Frances Aebker also won their second match of the new season, defeating Savanna Rasombath and Mia Buco 7-5, 7-5. And the #3 team of Celia Yang and Faith Siwicki fell to Sanjana Ananthula and Olivia Picozzi in an eight-game pro set 8-4.
This week the Quakers play at Bay View on Tuesday at 4 on Tuesday and are home vs. LaSalle at 3:30 on Thursday.
