We are so excited to officially welcome our new Athletic Director, AJ Kizekai.
After emigrating from Liberia as a young child, AJ grew up in Rhode Island and graduated from St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket where he ran track and was the Gatorade Player of the year in football as a senior. He went on to a post-graduate year at Blair Academy and then to Bucknell University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Economics – and was a two-time team Captain and three time all-league selection in football.
After college, AJ spent two years as an Assistant Athletic Director and Advisor at Blair Academy. He went on to get a Masters in Sports Management from Georgetown University. After serving in various athletic administrative roles at URI, George Washington University, and Brown University, AJ returned to Bucknell as Assistant Athletic Director. He came back to New England in the summer of 2018 to be closer to his family and to take on a role leading athletic events and operations at Holy Cross, where he supported 27 teams and an event management staff of 108 people.
During the search process, AJ demonstrated an immediate sense of care for and personal connection with our students and our mission. He inspired us at every stage of our process with his natural leadership skills. We’re excited for AJ to bring his passion for athletics and his record of personal and professional success to Moses Brown. Welcome AJ!
