The Boys Ice Hockey team competes in Division I of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League.
The Quakers have a very proud hockey tradition with multiple recent alumni furthering their hockey careers at the prep, collegiate, and professional levels. The MB Quaker family is proud of the recent matriculation for the student athletes with 7 NCAA DI, 12 NCAA D III, and 8 NEPSAC standouts. The school’s ability to enjoy alumni simultaneously playing in the AHL, Hockey East, ECAC, NESCAC prove that the academic, athletic, and co curricular opportunities are a wonderful asset for all students.
Moses Brown has successfully won championships and/or division titles at the Rhode Island State and Prep levels. Friday and Saturday nights are hockey night in Rhode Island and playing in front of loyal fan bases in rival rinks is how our student athletes spend the New England winters!!!
The Quakers’ seasons include historically great in state competition from schools such as LaSalle Academy, Bishop Hendricken, and Mt. St. Charles Academy. Generally complimented with a Holiday Tournament and additional exposure from tilts against various schools such as NEPSAC foe (Portsmouth Abbey) and Super 8 teams from Massachusetts (St. John's & Xaverian), the MB Quaker hockey schedule is always an exceptional test of hockey.
Following a return to the RIIL from the NEPSAC in recent years, the Moses Brown Boys Varsity Hockey team looks to continue to rebuild towards being a perennial championship contender. After challenging for the D-1 State Championship in winters past lead by 3 ProvidenceJournal All State First Team Selections, 3 RI Coaches All Division First Team Selections, and the two leading scorers in the Rhode Island High School Hockey; this year's squad is ready to challenge the tales of their predecessors. This season the team boasts a growing core of young talent matriculating to Moses Brown School from various Elite Level programs throughout New England. Several pivotal upperclassmen compliment the dynamic freshman and sophomore classes laying the foundation for immediate and long term term successes.
